Snowshoeing
Accompanied by a guide, snowshoes on, you will go on a trip through the woods, nature and the blue skies.
Accompanied by a guide, snowshoes on, you will go on a trip through the woods, nature and the blue skies.
Snowshoeing is a slightly more strenuous activity than a walk on the snow, but it is incredibly fascinating, especially if you cross breathtaking panoramas, far from the crowd and the stress of the ski lifts.
To appreciate when it has just snowed, the surrounding environment covered in snow, and everything is soft, magical, and silent. Similar (but much simpler) to cross-country skiing, snowshoes attach onto the point of the snow boot, allowing you to lift your heel, to facilitate walking on the snow.
During the walk, our expert guides will tell you all about the stories of the surrounding peaks, and of the local flora and fauna.
Highlights
Example of excursions:
CHAMOIS Situated at 1815 mts, in the middle valley of the Matterhorn, on the left bank of the Marmore torrent, is the highest municipality of the Aosta Valley, and one of the highest in Italy. Chamois is accessible primarily through a cable car that starts in Buisson, fraction of Antey-Saint-André. For the well-trained there is the old mule track with its 93 tight turns. Chamois is accessible also from the town of La Magdeleine, following the path called »The Energy Trail», a walk suitable for any by foot or on a bike.
Since 2006 it boasts the name “Pearl of the Alps” and belongs in a constellation of locations in the Alps that are among the most beautiful in Europe, united in their common desire to promote the protection of the territory and travel free from the restraint of a car.
A nighttime snowshoe expedition to the LO RIONDET shelter of La Thuile, connected through the “Roe Deer Trail”, an unchallenging path lasting around 50 minutes. Starting from the village of Pont Serrand, the guests will be equipped with headlights, and accompanied by our hiking guides, reaching the Lo Riondet lodge, where a dinner of traditional Aosta Valley dishes will be served. The return is planned on a snowcat.
In the darkness of the night, surrounded by the immaculate whiteness of the snow and fir trees, one step away from the starry sky, an evening in the Lo Riondet lodge is an unforgettable mountain experience.
Upon arriving at the lodge a mulled wine will be offered under the stars, a sweet, light, and warm welcome, capable of fighting of the winter cold. Then, once inside, the always lit fireplace even warms up the heart! Dinner begins right away; on food laden tables everything is ready, beautiful, delicious, and abundant! The dinner is rustic with typical mountain dishes.
The VAL FERRET is one of the most spectacular valleys of Courmayeur and of the Aosta Valley. Positioned at the base of the Mont Blanc, it stands out for its easygoing path and length of over 20 km.
A unique panorama characterises this valley: the majesty of the Mont Blanc, the Dent du Géant, Le Grandes Jorasses, the Aiguille de Triolet and the Mont Dolent. Over 20 km of nature.
CHAMPOLUC and CERVINIA. Accompanied by a guide, snowshoes on your feet, you’ll cross the forest and the farm roads to discover nature!
In both sites the snowshoe expedition will last around 2 hours.
We are experts in our mountain territory and we will suggest the best snowshoe experience tailored to you.
